چکیده
Geomorphological and sedimentological indicators are often used to reconstruct not only coastal evolution, but also relative sea level changes. In this work, we studied the sediments of Psatha bay (Alkyonides Gulf, Greece) beachrock outcrops in order evolution area. The drillings analysis included stratigraphy, sediment texture radiocarbon dating. Detailed mapping beachrocks was accomplished using DGPS-GNSS, as well mineralogical OSL dating samples. new index points indicate a that fell by 0.64 ± 0.13 m since 2200 210 years BP 0.95 4160 320 BP, direct result its location near uplifting footwall fault, suggesting further rate tectonic uplift ~0.26 mm/yr for late Holocene.

Late Holocene Caspian Sea Level Changes and its Impacts on Low Lying Coastal Evolution: a Multidisciplinary Case Study from South Southeastern Flank of the Caspian Sea
Caspian Sea is the largest land locked water body in the world and has been characterized by significant relative sea-level changes since the Pliocene. The sea-level oscillations have strongly impacted the coastal areas depending on geomorphological setting. This study aims to investigate the impacts of sea level oscillations on low-lying coasts of the southeastern flank of the Caspian Sea...
متن کاملQuaternary coastal morphology and sea-level changes—an introduction
Few things remain static in natural systems and perhaps no better illustrated than by changes in the level of the ocean surface with respect to the land over Quaternary timescales. The position of sea level (ultimate base level) and changes of sea level over geological timescales represent important controls in the evolution of coastal environments, and as an agent of profound geomorphological ...
متن کاملHindcasting Coastal Sea Levels in Morecambe Bay
A method of variational data assimilation (by means of an adjoint model) is used to improve the boundary conditions for a high resolution depth-averaged two dimensional non-linear hydrodynamic model of Morecambe Bay. The modelled region contains a large inter-tidal area and has an unusually high tidal range. The assimilation procedure is robust and effective in reducing model error. This system...
متن کاملA Note on Relative Sea Level Change at Funafuti, Tuvalu
This document describes an analysis of long-term relative sea level change 1 at Funafuti, Tuvalu. It is based on data provided by the University of Hawaii Sea Level Centre (UHSLC) and the Australian National Tidal Facility (NTF), and covers the years 1978 to 2001 inclusive. Standard statistical techniques have been used to estimate the rate of change of sea level and its associated uncertainty....
